Gainesville City Commission 2005 Races:
Due to time and health constraints, there will be NO ADJUSTED amounts or GRAPHICs included in my
reports for these races. Without the adjusted reports,
the effect of multiple donations from a single source are not relected in the stats. Statistics reported
for district 2 candidate Braddy and district 3 candidate Domenech, and At-large-2 candidate Bryant
in particular, would be quite different
if an adjusted report had been included because they each accepted $850 from seven business contributions
which appear to be the same interest. Those contributions were
received on the same day, share the same street or PO Box address, and are known to me to be interrelated
corporations. The stats in my report show these as seven smaller donations rather than the single large
donation that would be reported in an adjusted report. In addition, district 3 candidate Mike Belle and
district 2 candidate Gabriel would also have quite different statistics in an adjusted report because of
the number of contributions they funded themselves.
This should be taken into consideration when
interpreting any of the numbers reported in these 2005 Gainesville City Commission races.

Until I began the Buyers Guide I knew alot about the platforms but little about the financial backing of the candidates for whom I voted. In May 2000 I decided to try a new approach to elections: as if I were buying a used car. I should know how many miles my candidates have been driven and by whom; how well they have been taken care of and by whom; whether they have remained around town or have taken on long distance milage. A Buyers Guide would have been helpful, but one did not exist. Now one does.
The above reports contain the following information:
Buyers Guide pages are updated approximately every 2 weeks in the last months of the election.
Are you having trouble seeing the most current data reports? Or, do the charts not match the numbers cited in the report? If so, your web browser has probably "cached" the webpage or graphic from your previous visit to this site. You need to reload (Netscape) or refresh (IE) the page or graphic. This tells your web browser to go fetch the most current copy of the page or graphic from this website. You could also purge your cache file if you know how to do this.
These reports were derived from campaign contribution data retrieved from
the Florida Division of Elections
web site,
Alachua County Supervisor of Elections web site, and the official governmental
offices designated to collect these reports
on the date I obtained it. Although much care was given to provide accurate statistics, I
give no guarantee that the information reported is without error. You can always run the
numbers yourself and compare them to my reports.
